Poplar Springs Manor Wedding: Tranquil Elegance Under the Elms

Hi, I'm Win, and nothing grounds me more than a day where the venue whispers as much as the couple's glances do. That's how this recent Poplar Springs Manor wedding felt for Rebecca and Mike—a sunny afternoon in Warrenton, Virginia, where timeless grounds cradled their elegant vows in perfect tranquility.

Poplar Springs Manor: History That Holds Your Story

Tucked on 173 acres of pre-Revolutionary estate at 5025 Casanova Road, Poplar Springs Manor blends rustic charm with serene luxury: towering elms framing lush lawns, manicured gardens rolling toward scenic views, and flagstone terraces that invite unhurried pauses. Rebecca and Mike chose it for that quiet poise—ceremonies on the 56-by-61-foot Stone Patio for up to 200 under open sky, receptions flowing into the grand 45-by-99-foot Glass Ballroom (seating 350) with its crystal chandeliers and hardwood dance floor. The intimate Stone Ballroom (29 by 18 feet) waited for toasts, while dedicated Bridal and Groom Suites—with vanities, closets, and half baths—kept prep cozy. Ample parking for 200 cars, mahogany Chiavari chairs, and on-site inn rooms for stays made it seamless. This Poplar Springs Manor wedding wove their calm into the manor's bones: spa treatments nearby, WiFi for last-minute checks, and landscapes that turn every path into a portrait spot.

Early Light and Easy Starts

I arrived ahead of schedule to this Poplar Springs Manor wedding, drone humming over the elm-lined lane that begged for later frames. The sun broke clear, bathing everything in that golden wash. Though my official start was the first look, I slipped into the Bridal Suite early—Rebecca mid-laugh as she adjusted her gown, the space's soft light catching every detail. Quick clips of her prep, then I dashed out, two cameras ready.

Looks That Linger, Then Vows in the Sun

Photographer Abby and I synced on the tree-flanked lane for Mike's reveal—he closed his eyes at my tap, a quick "Hi" breaking the ice before Rebecca tapped his shoulder. Her eyes welled, but she held steady, their hands linking like they'd practiced in quiet moments. We stayed there for family portraits, the schedule humming thanks to planner Cassidy from Dusk and Dawn—kind couple, easy flow.

Sunlight timed its entrance just before the patio ceremony: Rebecca walking the aisle amid soft cheers, Mike's steady gaze meeting hers under the elms. Vows exchanged with that tranquil weight, sealing their elegant yes.

Sunset Steals and a Night That Danced

Reception kicked off on time in the Glass Ballroom, chandeliers warming the air as guests mingled. We snuck Rebecca and Mike out for sunset portraits along the gardens—those elm shadows stretching long, capturing their timeless spark. DJ Craig spun tracks that lit the hardwood floor; laughter built to full dances, the night wrapping perfectly in the manor's embrace.

Filming Rebecca and Mike's day reaffirmed it: Tranquility isn't absence—it's the space for real joy to settle. Vendors who elevated it:

Planner: Dusk and Dawn Events,

We decided last minute to add videography for our March wedding and we feel so lucky that we found Win and Portrait Hour Wedding Films to capture our day. From our first call, Win was professional and educated us about the process. He was conscious of how expensive weddings can be and helped us craft a package that met our needs, even throwing in some extras which we hadn’t encountered from any other wedding vendors. It really feels like he is in this industry for the right reasons and we loved working with him.

On our wedding day, Win was super non-intrusive and worked alongside with our photographer to capture the beautiful memories from our day. We loved our wedding film from the start, but if we hadn’t he was very willing to incorporate our feedback. He also captured the speeches from our wedding night, and skillfully removed the background noise (including a crying baby!) which made our day when we could watch back the speeches without interruption.
